How long to become an active and competent hacker?

So I have a bachelors in comp sci , but I never really touched the cybersecurity side of things. And honestly it seems like a really cool set of skills to have , the rabbit hole goes deep and I recently audited a cybersecurity course just for fun , I’m not gonna lie I’m kinda glued to the game right now. But I can’t help but feel regret , I probably missed the boat. I’m already 25 - could one actually be a valued “hacker” at this age ? Or is this one of those , you’ve been doing it since you were 15 before being considered anything good. Would it be a waste of time to start this road if you wanted to become something greater than a typical COMPTIA security+ professional ? Hope it makes sense , thanks by HowToHack on Reddit.com<a target="_blank" title="So I have a bachelors in comp sci , but I never really touched the cybersecurity side of things.
