Exchanges are the only way I’ve ever known of getting crypto. Unless of course you get paid in crypto or someone gives it to you. But I’m just thinking, I don’t think a crypto exchange was born the instant bitcoin became a thing. So back in those days, how did people get it?Through what system could a person swap fiat and have bitcoin in the early days? And back then was the only way to spend it was to transfer it with the agreement that another party would fulfill their portion of the deal? Now there are payment gateways and stuff. I know about the guy who paid 10k bitcoin for a pizza but he sent 10k bitcoin to someone and they bought the pizza for him. He didn’t directly buy the pizza with 10k bitcoin.Mainly I’m just curious about how people acquired bitcoin back in the day. What about ethereum too? Was mi in the sole way to acquire it early on?
