Checking if my video surveillance system is secure

Hi all, my dad installed some cameras around the house for security purposes. As well as recording, they allow you to access live stream and recorded via an app.I'm not sure how all of that works, I only know we had to create a subdomain on the camera's brand (name_of_the_house.cameras_brand.it) and as far as I could understand with packet analysis the app starts a TCP connection with that domain but I couldn't get more.How would I start if I wanted to check the cameras aren't available to anyone else?
